Productivity, Conformity, & Professionalism

This whole idea of professionalism has thrown me.

What really makes a professional?

I can put thousands of hours into a craft,

And still not properly get compensated for my work.

But then I can go and do some random, mindless job

And get paid the most I've ever made--

Which still isn't even a livable wage. Mind you.

What is it?

The more mindless the work, the better we are rewarded?

What is with this world?

So we conform,

Conform to the monetary system,

Because that is what our societies have converted to.

It's about the dollar-- of an old white man who most likely "owned" slaves.

My moral self just can't do it anymore.

So how do we survive otherwise?

Good question.

How. Do. We. Survive. Otherwise?
